Mosquito Installation Code of Practice

1. Mosquito units should only be installed where there is an existing problem with youths loitering.
   
   
2. Mosquito units should only be activated at the time(s) when the problem usually occurs. Periods of activation should not exceed 30 minutes.
   
   
3. Mosquito units should be switched off when the problem stops occurring.
   
   
4. Mosquito Units should be positioned externally and directed to focus the sound generated at the area where the problem occurs. *
   
   
5. Mosquito Units should be directed away from privately owned property.
   
   
6. Mosquito Units should be securely fixed to a solid structure. *
   
   
7. Mosquito Units should be installed using proper fixings at a height above 3 metres and should be protected by a security cage to avoid vandalism *
   
   
8. Mosquito units should be connected to a 230V supply using the plug provided, alternatively the unit should be professionally installed.
   
   
9. Mosquito cabling should be clipped, tied or enclosed to ensure a safe and secure installation. *
   
   
10. Signage should be used to provide notification that an ultra-sonic deterrent system is in use.
    e.g.:To ensure a safe and clean environment for our customers and staff,we operate a Mosquito system to discourage unwelcome loitering. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause we continue to value all of our customers.
